A month or so ago, I tore an article out of a magazine about bottle cap pin cushions. I found an errant bottle cap in my hubby’s office today and decided today was the day. I looked and looked for the article, but couldn’t find it. So, I winged it.
I traced the bottom of the bottle cap and cut it out, then I cut a strip for the edge and sewed it to the bottom. So far, so easy.
Then, I cut a big circle, gathered up the edges and stuffed it with wool batting.
Then, I stuffed the bottle cap with wool.
Then, sew the stuffed circle to the base.

Detail of me sewing the top to the bottom. I wish I had of used purple thread. I ended up coloring the white thread with a sharpie.

Here, I am finished sewing the top to the bottom. I now have one plain looking pincushion.

I think I know the article you’re talking about, but I’ve lost my copy, too! Great job, especially “winging” it. I look forward to seeing more cute “crafty treasures” from you.
