I asked my mom if she would like a tote bag (like this one) for her birthday. She surprised me by saying she would rather have a sewing machine cover like mine. So, I hunted my fabric stash for super cute fabric. I had the red floral and blue print on hand for making a wrap skirt (for my 40th birthday and I hated it). But, I still loved the fabric. I bought the black fabric to back a St. Jude’s quilt (that never got made). I think my mom’s cover turned out cuter than mine. I was able to work out some kinks in the process with hers. Now, I think I will make a cover for my daughter’s sewing machine for a little xmas gift for her.

I used this tutorial to get me started with the sewing machine cover. The drawstring bag and sewing mat are my own design.
