Handmade Tea Towels

My kitchen needed sprucing up.  If I wasn’t practicing (practically a slave to it) Forced Frugality, I would have ran to Walmart or Target and purchased new towels and pot holders to spruce things up.  Well, that’s just not in the cards right now, so I have to make do with what I have on hand.
I [...]

Birthday present for Bitty Girls

I’ve spent the whole day sewing a birthday gift for my cousin who is turning six.  I made her shorts, skirt, lined vest and a headband from strawberry fabric.  I think the items turned out really cute.  I still need to do some hand stitching, but basically the items are finished.
For the vest and skirt, [...]

I bit the bullet

and opened an Etsy shop this morning.  I’ve listed 3 of the 4 reamining Japanese knot purses, if you are interested.

My Homemade Clip-It-UP

I wanted to order a clip-it-up.
 Bad.
I actually had it in my shopping card and had my credit card out….
Then, I decided to google “homemade clip-it-up.”  I am so glad I did, cause I found lots and lots and lots of hacks.
That when I had the good fortune to remembered I had a hand towel stand in [...]

A Snowman ball

My nephew Gavin is 3.  I made the white polar tech ball as a prototype for the snowman ornaments (seen here).  I couldn’t throw it away, so I painted a snowman face on it and plan to give it to Gavin for Christmas.  Turned out cute, No?

My Zakka Life Giraffe Twine Holder

I really enjoy reading Zakka Life.  While surfing the ‘net this morning, I saw her Twine Holder Giraffe.  I quickly decided that I needed one, too.  Then, I remember a McDonald’s toy that PJ got last week when we lunched in the car.   I quickly found it.  Then, I took the toy/twine holder to the [...]

Star Wars Lounge Pants

Back during the summer, I bought a vintage Star Wars sheet from the Thrift Store.  I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it, but I thought PJ would like it to make a tent or fort.  Then, I found out all the blog girls were making stuff with sheets (lots of fabric, [...]

Little Boy Pants

Mom came over yesterday and helped me finish up my Christmas sewing list. I made the pants for Gavin, while she sewed PJ’s snuggi blanket and tissue covers.
I am in love with the puppy pants.  This was left over fabric from PJ’s back to school book bag.  I am so glad I found a good [...]

My To Do List is updated

I am sewing my fingers to the bone for Christmas.  Today, I took a few minutes to update my sewing list.  Check it out.  It still needs tweaking, but it is much more accurate.

Snowmen ornaments

I made 6 snowmen ornaments for PJ’s cub scout pack to give to the Methodist girls home. Currently the home is housing 6 girls in need of Christmas gifts. PJ’s troop is making a stocking for each girl. I keep trying to pick a favorite, but they all have such personality.

Another Super Hero Cape

I liked Ashley’s cape so much, I am making another one for her brother, Alex.  Alex is 7.  His cape will be red and blue.  Below is a in progress picture.

Xmas gift for my cousin, Ashley – Super Hero Cape

I found a cute tutorial for a super hero cape back during the summer.  I bookmarked it for “later.” As Christmas closed in, I thought of making a gift for my 2 little cousins.  Ashley is 5 and a little princess.  Her cape is hot pink with her name on one [...]

Sewing Machine Cover and Accessorries

Sewing Machine Cover and Accessorries, originally uploaded by MyHeart4Him.
I asked my mom if she would like a tote bag (like this one) for her birthday. She surprised me by saying she would rather have a sewing machine cover like mine. So, I hunted my fabric stash for super cute fabric. I had the red floral [...]

Dog Leashes – Can you believe it?

I got a wild hair and decided to trick out my dog, Dash. I made him a dog collar and leash. I liked it so much, I made one for my Mom and my girthfriend Faith (1 each for both her dogs for her 40th birthday). It was sew easy. I really want to make [...]

Smokey the Bear outfit for PJ

I made the bear shorts a long time ago, but I had trouble finding a green t-shirt to match. I finally bought this golf shirt at the Birmingham Wal-mart. Our Wal-mart was sold out of his size. The Smokey Bear patch is my Dad’s. I already had the flag patch, so I decided to use [...]
