After 6 months (or more), I finally finished the dress for Olivia. Disappointingly, it is a little bit too big. But, it is done.
The fabric is beautiful. Olivia really did a good job picking it out, but the fabric was a challenge the sew. It told her Saturday that I was going to finish sewing [...]

My nephew Gavin is 3. I made the white polar tech ball as a prototype for the snowman ornaments (seen here). I couldn’t throw it away, so I painted a snowman face on it and plan to give it to Gavin for Christmas. Turned out cute, No?

Back during the summer, I bought a vintage Star Wars sheet from the Thrift Store. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it, but I thought PJ would like it to make a tent or fort. Then, I found out all the blog girls were making stuff with sheets (lots of fabric, [...]

Mom came over yesterday and helped me finish up my Christmas sewing list. I made the pants for Gavin, while she sewed PJ’s snuggi blanket and tissue covers.
I am in love with the puppy pants. This was left over fabric from PJ’s back to school book bag. I am so glad I found a good [...]

PJ wants me to order him a snuggi blanket for TV. He loves cozy things – polar tech pants, sweat pants, microfiber blankets, polar tech sheets, etc….
So, my mom made him one yesterday from some polar tech I had on hand. She used Joey’s pattern from here.
When I make a picture, I will post it.

I am sewing my fingers to the bone for Christmas. Today, I took a few minutes to update my sewing list. Check it out. It still needs tweaking, but it is much more accurate.

I made 6 snowmen ornaments for PJ’s cub scout pack to give to the Methodist girls home. Currently the home is housing 6 girls in need of Christmas gifts. PJ’s troop is making a stocking for each girl. I keep trying to pick a favorite, but they all have such personality.

I found a cute tutorial for a super hero cape back during the summer. I bookmarked it for “later.” As Christmas closed in, I thought of making a gift for my 2 little cousins. Ashley is 5 and a little princess. Her cape is hot pink with her name on one [...]

Sewing Machine Cover and Accessorries, originally uploaded by MyHeart4Him.
I asked my mom if she would like a tote bag (like this one) for her birthday. She surprised me by saying she would rather have a sewing machine cover like mine. So, I hunted my fabric stash for super cute fabric. I had the red floral [...]

I got a wild hair and decided to trick out my dog, Dash. I made him a dog collar and leash. I liked it so much, I made one for my Mom and my girthfriend Faith (1 each for both her dogs for her 40th birthday). It was sew easy. I really want to make [...]

Each time PJ wears an outfit I made him, he gets LOTS of compliments and LOTS of attention. Little boys thrive on lots of attention. So, I keep sewing.
My daughter’s friend suggested she sew a t-shirt with the felted letters that are all the rage. I liked the idea and made one [...]

PJ is a bit needy. He requires attention and discipline from his teacher. Let’s just say, if PJ is in your classroom and you are the teacher, you have to WORK. So…… In an effort to keep his teach happy, I made her a beautiful Owl totebag. Now, isn’t the high-maintenance child easier to mange?
Here [...]

Olivia turns 11 on Saturday. Her Dad and I bought her a Janome Sew Mini for her gift. We gave it to her a bit early, since school starts next week and she won’t have as much time to play with it. All week, each night Olivia and I have sewed [...]

I’ve had this pattern for awhile, but since I am tricking out my sewing area, I decided now was a good time use it. I downloaded the pattern from www.allpeoplequilt.com. I really love the results. The purple ribon is hand dyed hem tape. The back button is new, but the turquoise [...]

I decided to trick out my sewing machine cover. A google search for “Fabric Flower Tutorial” lead me to Boutique Nutmeg. I quickly whipped up 3 blossoms and they turned out gorgeous. Thanks Nutmet!! Tonight I sewed the “corsage” to my sewing machine cover. Check back tomorrow night for those pictures.
